| 'Health infrastructure coming up well' | | | Srinagar Aug 19: Minister for Health and Medical Education Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma has said that the infrastructure development under health sector has started pouring in satisfactory results and efforts to provide necessary staff in health institution are on.
Presiding a review meeting here today regarding infrastructure development and availability of Medical and Para Medical staff in hospitals of Ganderbal district and Hajin Block, the minister said that argumentation of health care facilities in these areas is being given added attention. He said that effective implementation of state and centrally sponsored health scheme is imperative for providing better health care to the people. He asked the authorities of health department to organize health awareness camp so that the benefits of on going health schemes reach the common masses.
The meeting decided that the administrative control of the hospitals in Ganderbal, Lar and Wakoora Blocks would now be under Directorate of Health Service Kashmir and will also monitor the infrastructure development in these medical blocks. It was also decided in the meeting that the hostels in Ganderbal District for training and teaching of the students in the enter district would also be looked after health department.
Regarding fixation of administrative control over the health institutions in Hajin Block, it was said in the meeting that to evolve a suitable mechanism for the purpose an another meeting would be held by next week.
Minister for Forests, Housing and Urban Development, Qazi Mohammad Afzal, Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone, Secretary Health, Mr. K B. Jandial, Director SKIMS, Dr. Abdul Hameed Zargar, HOD SKIMS, Dr. Imtiyaz, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Muzaffar, Principal Government Medical College, Srinagar, Dr. Mustaq Ahmed and other officers of health department participated in the meeting.
