| UFO digitalizes golden hits of R.K. filmsvv | | | Mumbai- Aug 19: UFO Movies and the pioneer in the digital cinema business and world largest digital Cinema chain and the prestigious R.K. Film have come together to release golden and popular classic film like ‘Baby’ ‘Satyam Shivam Sunderam’ ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ ‘Prem Rog’ ‘Heena’ in digital wide screen format. R.K banners founded by the great showman, Raj Kapoor are the first production house to release its classics on the digital platform. Randhir Kapoor said that’ We are constantly being approached by various single-screen theatres and multiplexes with request to screen our films’. However, we posses these films in analogue prints, which have a limited shelf life and whose print quality deteriorates with the passage of time and with repeated screenings. We therefore thought it is appropriate to have them released in digital prints to preserve these much-loved films for eternity. We are well aware of UFO Movies and its technology and can’t think of a better organization to partner us in this effort. It is not the income that we will earn form these movies but the sheer pleasure and joy of making classics available to discerning audiences in a good format, he added. This is the first step and we will continue this effort, for the entire library of R.K. Films, Randhir added.. Pankaj Jaysinh of UFO Movies said it is great honor to be considered by the great R.K. Films to release its timeless classic movies in digital prints. ‘We feel like we are playing a part in preserving the history of Indian cinema by maintaining these beautiful classics for the future generation. Raj Kapoor has numerous fans and the movies and songs cut across all generations and all classes of audiences, he said adding that it will be our pleasure to play a part in the screening of these classics. A digital print is the only answer for the great Indian classics to survive the test of time. These great movies were big hits at the time of their release and even today there are many people who would consider it a visual treat to watch these movies with today’s improved, picture and sound technology.
