| Police arrests LeT area commander | | |
Jammu , Aug 20: Security forces arrested a top area commander Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) from a far off village of Udhampur district during a late night combat operation,
Sources in Police told that a joint search party of CRPF and Police after developing an Information launched a combat operation at Dudu Basant Garh , a far off area north of Udhampur town late night on Sunday.
During the cordon of a hideout about which the search party had a prior information, it arrested a Lashker area commander soon after he was about to flee from the spot on
"The police had prior information about the the area commander coming to the place", police sources said adding that he had come there to hold a meeting with the militants working under his command"
Identifying the arrested Lashker commander as Abu Bakar, sources said that he was active in the area for last two to three years and was involved in various militancy related violent activities.
Police has also recovered arms and ammunition from his possession.
