| Uproar, noisy scenes dominate LC proceedings | | NC stages walk out for not getting satisfactory reply | |
Srinagar, Aug 20: Uproar and noisy scenes dominated Legislative Council proceeding on day one today after members of main Opposition National Conference indulged in exchange of hot words with members of treasury when the former objected to the unsatisfactory reply of minister of Agriculture. They also staged a walk out to register their protest. Earlier soon after the house met today NC members were on their feet demanding a full scale discussion on the situation that has arisen in the backdrop of Khundroo fire incident. Led by the leader of opposition Sakina Ittoo, NC members who said they have submitted a notice to the chair for the discussion demanded a statement from the government on the incident. However, the opposition members pacified after the Chairman Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjoora assured them that he would allow the discussion later. Later, during the question Hour, the NC members indulged in exchange of hot words with the members of treasure benches after the former expressed dissatisfaction with the reply on a reply by Minister for Agriculture question. Chairman made repeated attempts to restore order but the NC members insisted on their point that the reply to the question was wrong. They later staged a walk out to register their protest.
