| Rs. 5 cr for renovation of power distribution system in Uri: Taj | | |
Srinagar August 20 (INFO) – Concluding his 3 days tour to Uri Constituency, Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today visited Bighama and Lachipora villages and addressed public gatherings. The Minister said that under Earthquake Reconstruction Programme, Rs.1.25 crore have been earmarked for upgradation of 12 kilometers long Gingle-Lachipora road. The work on this road would be started during current fiscal. He directed the concerned officers for one sheep and one Animal Husbandry centre to be made functional within days at Bijhama. Highlighting the developmental scenario in the areas the Minister said that two filtration plants are being constructed at a cost of Rs.24 lakhs in Bijhama and Lachipora. He announced a food store and one Health centre for Lachipora. The Minister also said that Rs.5 crore stand earmarked for renovation of electric wires and poles in Uri constituency, the work on which would be taken up in phased manner. He said that during past three years, 350 teachers and 442 Anganwaries workers and helpers were appointed on merit basis in the tehsil. Among others, State Secretary PCC Mir Mushtaq Nowshehri also addressed the gatherings. SDM Uri besides tehsil officers and engineers accompanied the Minister.
