| Khoda promises to strengthen Civil Defence Organization | | | Srinagar August 20 (INFO) – Describing Civil Defence an important part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police force, the Director General of Police Mr. Kuldeep Khoda, who is also Commandant General of Civil Defence and Home Guard has said that it has always come to the rescue of people during crises and pressing times. The Director General of Police was addressing a meeting of Civil Defence Officers and Wardens of the Kashmir valley at Divisional Civil Defence Control room here today. He inspected all the wings and sections of the Civil Defence Control Room and got first hand information about the working of the communication system of the Civil Defence connected with all the districts. Mr. Khoda said that nature of the duties of the civil defence is different from that of the police as such it can bridge the gap between the police and public at large. He said civil defence officers can bring problems of people before the government for redressal. He promised all possible assistance and equipment to Civil Defence Organization to enable it to deal with any crises effectively. The Inspector General of Police, Home Guards, Civil Defence and Auxiliary Police, Mr. Naveen Aggarwal gave a detailed presentation highlighting the working of the Civil Defence Organization since its inception in the state. This was followed by a lively interactive session between the Director General of Police and the Wardens wherein Mr. Khoda listened to the grievances of the wardens and assured that their genuine problems would be addressed. Earlier, the Director General of Police was received at the Civil Defence Control Room by Inspector General of Police, Civil Defence, Home guards & Auxiliary Police Mr. Naveen Aggarwal, SSP Mr. Manzoor Ahmed Daniposh, SSP Traffic Mr. Abdul Hamid and Dy. SP, Mr. Abdul Hasmid Beig. A guard of honour was presented to the Police chief on the occasion.
