DDC approves Rs.1.45 cr under Tribal Sub Plan

RAJOURI, AUGUST 20 (INFO)-District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mr Rafiq Ahmed Sheikh took stock of achievements under State Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plan (SCA to TSP) in district Rajouri at a review meeting with district officers and representatives of tribal community. He approved annual plan worth Rs 1.45 crore under Tribal Sub-Plan for the current fiscal here today. The meeting also proposed the targets of SCA to TSP for the current financial year.
It was given out in the meeting that Rs.142.81 lakh have been spent on small infrastructure development, Zamindara khuls, power, R&B, irrigation and social welfare schemes.
While reviewing sector wise achievements, the meeting was informed that under R&B sector four works including 3 roads and renovation of Gujjar and Bakerwal hostel, 313 rural development works beside 18 Zimandara khuls have been completed at an expenditure of Rs.142.51 lakh as against Rs.147.47 lakh released for completion of these works during the period.
While going through the allocation for current financial year a detailed deliberation was held and it was disclosed that Rs 1.45 crore have been approved under TSP for the current financial year, Rs 139.68 lakh will be spent on new infrastructure development works while Rs 5.32 lakh is required for completion of spill over works under R&B, Rural Development and Social Welfare. The plan envisages Rs 8.33 lakh for construction of library room, 11 km Pallma Ghai road and distribution of computers to schedule tribe students. Similarly, 10 cutting and tailoring centres would also be established in tribal areas for one year wherein 25 ST girl trainees per centre would be imparted training in cutting and tailoring at a cost of Rs 13.00 lakh, 400 ex-trained ST women would be provided sewing machines along with tools and kits at a cost of Rs 9.60 lakh besides 140 tribal youth will undergo training in computer education involving Rs 15.26 lakh.
Under handicraft sector, 8 handloom centres would also be established in tribal basties wherein 10 schedule tribe women would be imparted training in different crafts which will cost Rs 9.60 lakh. Under agriculture sector, 10 mushroom units will be established thereby providing 10 trays to each unit holder on 100 percent subsidy. Rs 36.37 lakh would also be spent on 72 minor infrastructure works under rural development works. In addition, Rs 26.90 lakh each would be spent on providing electricity and drinking water facilities to the left over hamlets/moharas of the tribal basties.
DDC disclosed that the approved outlay under the SCA to TSP would be sent to higher authorities for sanction so that the proposed plan could be implemented expeditiously. He advised the representatives of the schedule tribe community to monitor the works being executed in their respective areas. He also impressed upon the officers of the concerned department to put in their sincere efforts to complete the works in a stipulated period.
