| DDC inaugurates Akshay Urja Diwas | | |
RAJOURI, AUGUST 20
To mark the birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi being celebrated as “Rajiv Gandhi Askshay Urja Diwas’, is also known as Sad Bhawana Divas, Chief Education Officer Rajouri organized a grand function at the district headquarter in Government Boys HSS Rajouri today.
The function was inaugurated by the District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mr Rafiq Ahmed Sheikh.
In all, 9 government and local educational institutions participated.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mr Javid Khan presided over the function.
Among others, who attended the function were Principal of Government Boys and Girls Higher Secondary Schools, Principal National Public School Rajouri, Headmasters/Headmistress of Middle School Jawaharnagar and Naban Mohalla besides teachers and prominent citizens.
School children presented colorful cultural programme including skits and group songs based on national integration and communal harmony. National Anthem was also presented which was sponsored by Academy of Arts Cultural and Languages Sub office Rajouri.
In the inaugural function, CEO disclosed that this function is being organized under the guidelines of Ministry of New and renewable energy. A weeklong programme including rallies, debates and seminar will be organized at all zonal levels. Similar programmes would also be organized simultaneously on 27th of August at Manjakote zone, 3rd September at Nowshera and Dandaser, 10th September at Darhal, Sunderbani and Lower Hathal on 17th Peeri Koteranka and Khawas, Thanamandi on 26th and Kalakote , Mughla on 28th of September.
District Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri also administered a pledge to the participating students and guests to promote and maintain communal harmony in the country.
In his address, Additional Deputy Commissioner expressed his satisfaction over organizing such an impressive function to mark this auspicious occasion and threw light on the ideology of Late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi who gave a new direction to science and technology to make India a super power in the world.
He impressed upon the students’ community to create awareness among the masses for judicious use of power and adopt natural resources to save He stressed upon the students community to disseminate the message among the people about the importance of conservation and judicious use of energy. He said that since resources are becoming limited using solar energy can save power. He stressed upon the audience to use tube-lights in their houses to reduce the power consumption.
