| Multilingual mushaira held | | | REASI, AUGUST 20 To pay respectful homage to late Bashir Ahmed Raza, a famous writer and poet of Reasi who served the society by giving the message of communal harmony and mutual brotherhood among all sections of society through his poetry, the Dogri Sahitya Sangam Reasi organized a multilingual mushaira here yesterday. The District Development Commissioner, Reasi Mr. Sanjeev Verma was the chief guest on the occasion while Bharam Saroop Bijli presided over the function. The function started with the lightening of traditional lamp by the chief guest. In all 18 poets participated in the mushaira and recited their poems on the life of Bashir Raza and paid respectful homage to him. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Verma appreciated the efforts of poets to remove the prevailing social evils in the society by spreading a message of mutual brotherhood and communal harmony through their poetry. He said that organizing such mushairas bring out the hidden talent of poets. He further emphasized that poets have to play an important role for the healthy development of society. Mr. Verma congratulated the Dogri Sahitiya Sangam Reasi for organizing the function and hoped that such functions would be organized in future also. Among others, Tehsildar Reasi, Vice President Municipal Committee, councilors, prominent citizens, all family members of Bashir Ahmed Raza and large number of people were also present on the occasion.
