| CHO demands removed of pay anomalies | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu Aug 21 A meeting or community health officers (CHO) in service and retiree was held in the premises of Govt. Ayurvedic College, under the chairmanship Subash Antal, President Community health officers organization here today. In the meeting it was highly regretted that pay anomalies among the CHO still existed as some community health officers are placed in the pay scale of Rs.6500-10500 where as a few have been laced in the superior pay scale of Rs.6700-10700. Antal said director health service had been approached time and again to remove this anomaly of pay scales since the Govt. order No.302-HME-1997 issued by the commissioner secretary health dated 20-03-1997 clearly depicts that after the completion of two years probation period a CHO should be promoted to the higher pay scale of Rs.6700-10700 despite the case of CHOs in service and retirees who have put in two years service as probation over are qualified for the higher pay scale but directorate has been delaying the matter for the past one year. He said although it was processed in the DPC which was asked to forward the case to the secretary health state for seeking his permission but the case is still lying pending for the past 6 month. In spite of us fact that the DPC has given directions but no correspondence with secretary health had been initiated till date.
