| Mankotia flays Harsh’s suspension | | |
Srinagar, August 21:Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party has condemned the suspension of party MLA Harsh Dev Singh from the ongoing Assembly session for highlighting the cause of a poor employee, who died due to the alleged corrupt practices of the Minister for Rural Development Jugal Kishore Sharma and his cohorts.
JKNPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia has termed the whole incident of death of an employee of RDD Bishambar Singh Manhas of Kalakote and subsequent suspension of Harsh Dev Singh, MLA for highlighting the issue, as failure of Congress led coalition government in the state. He demanded a probe into the circumstances leading to the death of RDD senior assistant Bishambar Singh.
He said that government to suppress the democratic aspirations of the people of state and high rate of corruption among its Ministers, lack of accountability, failure to provide good governance to the people is taking to undemocratic and uncivilized tactics.
He wondered that during the present regime employees are committing suicide and suffering death for their failure to satiate the unending demands of the ministers. He said that during his tour of the Kalakote, family of the deceased Bishambar Singh told Panther party leaders that he was hounded and haunted by RDD minister and his cohorts for raising the issue of undue extortion and made to run from pillar to post for his reinstatement. Bishambar died due to extortion by the cohorts of RDD Minister, while Harsh Dev was suspended for raising the issue, said Mankotia adding that instead of indulging into mudslinging government should have ordered a probe into the death of Bishambar Singh.
Mankotia said that government knows that it hollow slogans of corruption free government, work culture and transparency would be exposed by the party within this short legislative session forcing it to resort to dictatorial attitude by suspending one of its member in the Assembly. He said that harsh Dev Singh is a seasoned MLA and has not threatened to kill anybody. It is the guilt of Minister of having caused the death of an employee for just few thousand rupees which has culminated into an self perceived threat to his own life.
Mankotia said that blood of a poor employee would not go unchallenged and Panthers would expose the corrupt deeds of the Cong ministers.
