| Members raise issues of public importance in Zero Hour | | | Srinagar, August 21 - Minister for Roads and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak while responding to a point raised by . Mohammad Rashid Quershi during zero hour in Legislative Council today said that granting of Schedule Tribe status to Pahari Community was in the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) of the government and is seriously pursuing it. Referring to issue raised by Professor Bhim Singh, regarding problems faced by Talwara migrants, Charak said that government was alive to their problems and was making every effort to mitigate these. He said that stern action would be initiated against the police officials found involved in atrocities against the agitating migrants. Mohammad Sharief Niaz demanded that the government should increase the number of passenger vehicles plying on the roads in the state to accommodate the over increasing number of commuters in general and in Doda and Kishtwar districts in particular. Ashok Kumar Sharma demanded an immediate release of salaries to the employees of JK Minerals whose salaries are pending for last some months, while as S. Arvinder Singh highlighted problems of transporters with regard to seeking fitness certificates and B. A. Naz raised problems of border area people of district Poonch. . M.Y. Taing invited the attention of Government towards the increasing incidents of suicide cases in the state particularly in Kashmir Valley and . Abdul Gani Vakil pointed out the problems of fruit growers of the Valley. Nasarullah highlighted the plight of private proprietors and sought adequate rent from the army for their properties.
