Residents discuss water scarcity

The residents of Laxmipuram-Chinor area near Bantalab in a meeting discusse various points regarding acute shortage of drinking water in the near by localities of Roopnagar, Chinore, Laxmipuram, Durga Nagar, Karan, Kamal Nagar and Bantalab.
Addressing the residets general secretary of J&K Milchar Front, Kuldeep Kumar Rao who chaired the meeting said a number of times concerned authorities were approached, but till date no action has been taken, with the result residents are suffering and are deprived of basic need in life.
He said due to migration of people form Poonch, Doda and Kashmir more and more new houses are coming up, without any proper planning. The pipe lives already laid in this area are proving insufficient. He urged upon the government to dig tube wells at various places in the area, which to some extend can ease water problem. Rao also appealed to Chief Minister and PHE minister. The matter may please the taken on priority bases.
