| Annual meeting of Principals of Army Schools Held | | | Jammu, Aug. 12
A two day annual meeting of Principals and nominated Chairmen of Army Schools of Northern Command (NC) was held at Dilkhush in Nagrota on 11/12 Aug. ’06.
Chief of the Staff HQ NC Lt. Gen. Rajinder Singh SM, VSM was the chief guest and the meeting was chaired by Maj Gen .I/C Administration HQ NC and MD Army HQ AWES
MG (Retd) Manmohan Singh and and other dignitaries, this was disclosed here in a press release of the P R O Defence.
The chief guest in his inaugural address said that greatest welfare of the children is to make them good citizens through quality education, wherein the role of Principals and teachers is primary in shaping their lives for which, he stressed, the academics should be at the prime focus of army schools, adding that all round development is the aim of the Schools, the release said.
The address was followed by enthralling Dogri dance by the students of AS Nagrota. The prizes and trophies were distributed for excellence in academics and sports.Trophy academic excellence in class X went to AS Akhnoor; for class XII went to APS Udhampur. Sports Championship trophy went to APS Udhampur. Award of Rs. 4000/- for excellence in academics last years went to eight students of APS Udhampur, AS Akhnoor, AS Nagrota, and AS Srinagar, the release added.
The delegates also gave presentation on valuable topics which was followed by a brainstorming session between the Principals and MD.
The chairman Army School Nagrota gave the vote of thanks.
