Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 22 Sri Lankan Cultural Troupe today performed at Ranjit College of Education, Kunjwani, Jammu as their 3rd performance during their visit in an International Cultural Exchange Programme organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. Mahesh Chopra, Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu was the Chief Guest. Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, IBS Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Tilak Fernando, the Troupe Leader of Sri Lanka were also present on the occasion. Mahesh Chopra, Director Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu while speaking on the occasion congratulated Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi and Sri Lankan Cultural Troupe Incharge Tilak Fernando for providing this special opportunity for Jammuites to witness the culture of the country like Sri Lanka. He also applauded the young female artists who performed superbly. He said that through such interaction programmes the message of peace and brotherhood at global level can be strengthened. Earlier, while welcoming the audience Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, IBS, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and languages praised the young artists and said that these Sri Lankan artists performing Kashmiri Folk Bumbroo, Bumbroo and Dogri Folk Dance Paranda, choreographed by Randhir Kumar as a gift item took only half an our rehersal before going to stage for final performance. He said that it shows the talent of all heights hidden in these young female artists of Sri Lanka. Rajni Anubhav compared the programme in a befitting manner while Manmeet Singh Amn, Founder Trust, Ranjit College of Education presented vote of thanks. Among others were present include S. Hardip Singh Gill, Dy. S.P., JKP, Dr. Vidhya Bhushan, S. Ranjit Singh Amn, Chairman, Ranjit College of Education, S. Nirmaljit Singh Amn, Dr. Sheetal Gupta, Principal, Ranjit College of Education, Dr. Rajni Gupta, Principal, Ranjit Teacher Training and Research Institute, J.L. Pandita, Retd. D.I.G., JKP, Principals, Staff and students of RCE, RTTR, AMNTTRI were present. The artists who performed include: Passana, Dinnshi, Manisha, Akila, Positha, Nethmi, Pravindya, Samurduka, Tamali, Onali, Avishka, Hasini, Dannshka, Taruka, Rashmi, Ishani, Anusha, Lakshini, Kavini, Sulochani, Eroshini, Madushanks, Seria, Srimani, Sunita Jayanthi, Praboda, Tilak and Maduri.
