| Rs.1.98 Cr Shadipora W.S.S and OHT at Trikoolbal on anvil: Dilawar | | | Srinagar August 22 - Government would explore all possibilities for construction of a 5 lakhs Gallan capacity water reservoir at Devar Parihaspora to provide adequate and assured drinking water supply to about one lakh population of 30 villages in the area at a total cost of Rs.2.50 Cr for the project. A reservoir would also be constructed in the vicinity. The scheme will provide water supply to about 30 villages including Tragam, Kawpora, Gund Khalil, Khan Peth, Yakhmanpora Cheenabal, Mirgund. Decision to this effect was taken at a high leel meeting held to review drinking water and irrigation facilities in Pattan area presided over by Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Mr. Dilawar Mir. President All Jammu and Kashmir State Association and Ex- MLA Pattan, Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Chief Engineer, PHE, Kashmir, Mr. G.M. Dar, Chief Engineer, Irrigation, Mr. Najeeb-ullah, Superintending Engineer Hydralic, Baramulla and concerned Executive Engineer were present in the meeting. It was informed that Draft project report (DPR) for a separate water supply scheme for Shadipora has been formulated at a cost of Rs.1.98 crore which will be sent to Administrative department within 10 days for approval. The scheme would benefit about 3000 population in the area. It was also decided that a tube-well with 12000 gallan discharge of water would be constructed at Trikoolbal with an Over Head Tank(OHT) which would provide water facility to the population of Trikoolbal and Hanjiveera. It was also decided that Shah Kohl in Pattan constituency would be completed within two years at an estimated cost of Rs.90 lakhs. In addition, Sultanpora nallah would be extended to Ankoola and all encroachments on the nallah would be removed on war footing.
