| Marital harassment leads to suicide | | Crime Branch presents charge sheet against accused | |
Jammu | Aug 23 Crime Branch has solved a suicide case and the Crime Branch has presented charge sheet against the accused who forced her wife to commit suicide. A spokesman of Crime and Railways said here that today while patrolling on railway track between kilometer 85-86 at Meen Sarkar, CB sleuths found a body of a lady, which was run over by NDE load plying from Jammu to Pathankot. An enquiry was ordered into the matter and during the course of enquiry the body was identified as Fia Bibi wife of Lal Din resident of Meen Sarkar, Samba and was taken into the custody form postmortem. After postmortem the body was handed over to his relatives for obsequies and a formal case was registered for in-depth enquiry into the matter. The spokesman said during the course of investigation persons acquainted with the facts were examined and during the investigation it came to surface that one Yaqoob Din son of Dim Mohammed resident of Meen Sarkar, Samba was issueless and he adopted the deceased when she was 10 months old. He brought up her and solemnized her marriage with one Lal Din son of Karim Baksh and after sometime the in-laws of the deceased started to harass her and she was separated from her family. Sources said during investigation crime branch also found out that a lady namely Radha was living as a tenant in a room in the house of her in-laws. After some time her husband developed illicit relations with the said lady. On this her husband threatened her of doing away with her and going for a second marriage with the said lady. In this way the deceased was harassed mentally as well as physically by her husband Lal Din which compelled her to commit suicide under the train. Sources said on the basis of investigation conducted and evidence available the case was closed and challan and charge sheet of the case presented before the court of law of judicial determination.
