| Proposal submitted to centre for opening of protected tourist areas: Taj | | | SRINAGAR: Minister for CAPD . Taj Mohi-ud-Din on behalf of Minister for Home today informed the House that during last seven months in militancy related incidents 68 civilians, 44 security personnel, 9 police personnel and 4 SPOs have been killed. He also said that in these incidents 189 militants were also killed. Taj was replying to a question by M. Y. Taing. Replying to another question by Sofi Ghulam Mohammad, the Minister said that the Residential Commissioner New Delhi has taken steps to recover the outstanding amount from the defaulting officers, officials and political personalities who have stayed at JK House Chanakyapuri, New Delhi during last five years and have failed to pay boarding and lodging charges. He further said that accommodation is provided in the JK House Chanakyapuri, New Delhi to the patient’s alongwith their attendants who are referred to Delhi for treatment on payment of rent under rules. Taj replying to another question by . P. Namgyal said that a proposal has been submitted to Government of India for exploring the possibilities for opening up areas having great tourism potential in the state including Gurez. He said that tourists intending to visit restricted and protected areas have to obtain permission from competent authorities. Taj on behalf of Minister for Home replying to a question by . Abdul Gani Vakil today informed the House that Town Hall Sopore is under the occupation of security forces for last 19 years. He said that alternative accommodation for security forces putting up in Town Hall Sopore is under construction. He said that on completion of the said accommodation Town Hall shall be vacated by the forces. He further said that Rs. 48 lakhs have already been released out of which Rs. 30 lakhs have been spent on the project so far which is being completed by end of this year.
