| Tara Chand chairs meeting to discuss traffic regulation during ongoing session | | | Srinagar, August 23 – Speaker Legislative Assembly . Tara Chand this evening convened a high level meeting to discuss ways and means for evolving a mechanism to ensure smooth plying of traffic and safe movement of people in Srinagar city during the ongoing Assembly Session. Minister for Health and Medical Education . Mangat Ram Sharma, Minister for Agriculture . Abdul Aziz Zargar, Minister for Finance, Law and Parliamentary Affairs . Tariq Hamid Karra, Leader of Opposition . Abdul Rahim Rather, Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly . Mohammad Akbar Lone, Chief Secretary . C. Phunsog, Principal Secretary Home . B. R. Kundal, Director General of Police . Kuldeep Khuda, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir . Mehboob Iqbal, senior police and civil officers of the administration attended the meeting. The meeting observed that the people of Srinagar city and commuters are facing inconvenience during their to and fro movement in the areas adjacent to the Assembly Complex. However, efforts are made to mitigate the inconvenience caused to the general public by adopting a proper traffic regulation system, the meeting was informed. The meeting also observed that various members have today expressed concern in the House about the inconvenience caused to the general public during the current session. The meeting decided that the traffic department and other concerned agencies would be asked to make more concerted efforts for exploring alternate routes in such a way that neither traffic jams nor any inconvenience is occurred.
