Peerzada for inculcating scientific temperament among students

Srinagar August 23 - Minister for Education, Peerzada M Sayeed has called upon one and all to strictly adhere to the precious principles of Late Prime Minister, . Rajiv Gandhi in order to inculcate scientific temperament among students, deeply cherished by late leader.
. Sayed was addressing an impressive function at College of Education here today organized by J&K Energy Development Agency, Science and Technology Department in connection with Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas (RGAUD) after inaugurating an exhibition on Non-conventional Energy Service.
Lauding the role of Late Leader in steering the country towards the 21st century with latest inputs of Science & Technology & Information Technology. . Sayeed said that . Rajiv Gandhi authorized 18 year old youth of the country to exercise their franchise in elections and above all sacrificed his life for the cause of Hindu-Muslim Unity. He said that Rajiv always emphasized for bringing scientific awareness among people, adding that the fruit of his efforts is multi faceted and multi-dimensional progress in the field of science and technology of India.
Earlier, Chief Education Officer, . Shafat Sultan, EDA while apprising the Minister about the ongoing activities said that Science and Technology Department is in the process of organizing a chain of activities on the eve of RGAUD. He said events like water sports, painting, essay writing competitions, symposia, seminars, exhibitions, launch of Akshay Urja Clubs, cycle races and school races are being organized by the department on state level with active support of youth services and sports, cultural academy, water sports centre and Education Department. He said that to bring home the message of renewable energy and its benefits, student community are considered to be the ambassadors of change as their involvement is expected to create a huge impact in every family.
Today, early in the morning, a school race was flagged off in which large number of students participated.
National Bhand Theatre presented a scintillating cultural show on the occasion. Famous humorous poet Ayub Sabir entertained the audience with his poetry.
Later the Minister awarded the meritorious and talented students, who topped in Essay and Painting Competitions, cycle and school race.
The students include Asima Jamal, Fatima Ali, Mir Anis, Younis Bashir, Sadiya Sabir, Ajaz Ahmed Mir and Umair ashraf.
