| Onkar lifts 15th Ser Sundwan Kesari 2007 | | | Early Times Reporter Katra | Aug 23 Pahalwan Onkar Singh of BSF Kathua lifted “15th Ser Sundwan Kesari 2007” title by defeating pahalwan Roshan Lal of Muthi, Jammu in the final bout (Ist malli) in a very tough bout played in 23 minutes at Govt. High School Ser Sundwan in Tehsil and District Reasi. Pahalwan Onkar Singh was adjudged as the best wrestler in “15th Ser Sundwan Annual Vishal Dangal”. He was awarded cash prize of Rs 1100/- along with a traditional malli while cash prize of Rs 1000/- was given to runner up Pahalwan Roshan Lal. The Dangal was organized by Ser Sundwan Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Amar Memorial Trust Katra under the supervision of its President Shiv Kumar Sharma. Shiv Kumar Sharma is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, President Amar Memorial Trust Katra and Ex. President Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra. Shiv Sharma Member District Udhampur Sports Advisory Board was the chief guest on the occasion and he distributed prizes among the outstanding wrestlers of the one day long competition. Lal Singh Nag Deputy Director Local Bodies (Retd) and Charan Dass Headmaster Ser Sundwan were the guests of honour. Joginder Singh (Ex Sarpanch), Kapoor Singh (Ex. Sarpanch), Janak Singh (Ex. Sarpanch), Krishan Kumar Bali (Retd Teacher) and Bansi Lal Senior PDP leader were the special guest. Member and technical officials who helped for conduct of this Vishal Dangal included Tej Ram, Rattan Singh, Raj Singh, Bodh Raj, Moti Ram, Tara Mani, Nazir Ahmed, Gandarb Singh, Janak Singh, Vijay Singh (Biju), Lehar Singh and Pt. Jagdish Chander. Total 37 bouts were played in the Vishal Dangal. In the second main bout Billu of Jammu beat Mohd Akram of Jammu. The third main bout was won by Anil Kumar by defeating Lara of Pathankot (pb). 4th bout was won by Kala of Jammu by defeating Baj Singh of Akhnoor. Bouts between Kuldeep Singh v/s Hoshier Singh and Parkash v/s Narinder Singh ended in a draw.
