Azad’s anti-corruption drive enters 'decisive' phase, 10 officers shown door

Srinagar, AUGUST 13 (INFO) – Translating his warning into reality that corrupt elements would be shown door to clean up the administration, Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad issued the vanguard list of corrupt officials and officers whose removal from government service has been approved.
In a Cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Mr. Azad here Sunday, the approval was given to premature retirement of ten officers and officials from government service with immediate effect under Article 226 (2) and (3) of CSR.
The officers and officials removed from government service are Syed Asgar Ali, KAS; Mr. Mohammad Ramzan Nadaf, Deputy General Manager JKPCC; Mr. Janak Singh, Financial Advisor and CAO; Mr. Habibullah Bhat, Supervisor CAPD; Mr. Ghulam Hassan Rather, Block Development Officer; Mr. Nazir Ahmad Khan, Plantation Official in Rural Development Department; Mr. Parshotam Singh, Girdawar Settlement Udhampur; Mr. Kuldeep Kumar, Patwari Kathua; Mr. Darshan Kumar Patwari Nowshera and Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Sheikhsaz, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer.
The war against corruption launched by Mr. Azad soon after he took over witnessed various stages of intensity which included strengthening of vigilance organization, issuing warnings to corrupt and non-performing officials time and again, giving free had to state vigilance organization to nab culprits indulging in corrupt practices and looting public exchequer, raids by SVO, arresting of officers and officials, confiscation of ill-gotten property of corrupt elements under the newly amended anti-corruption legislation, unique in the world and now weeding out corrupt and deadwood, speaks loud and dear the intention of Mr. Azad to cleanse up the administration.
The today’s Cabinet decision is also writing on the wall for those who still live in make believe world having the thinking of an ostrich who on seeing a hunter keeps its head in the wings with the belief that no one has seen it.
Chief Minister yesterday speaking at a public function had hinted that dooms day has arrived for corrupt elements and hangman’s noose is tightening around their necks.
Azad had warned time and again that no corrupt element would be tolerated in the administration and the days are gone when the public money was plundered and vultures eating up exchequer meant for welfare of public. He had warned that corrupt elements that they were under eagle’s eye watch and dossiers of their activities are being compiled.
Today was the day of action which as a first installment saw ten officers and officials reaping the punishment of their sins.
Azad, however, giving courage and patting the backs of performing and honest officers has announced. Chief Minister’s 22 carat gold medal, rupees one lakh cash award and other incentives including out-of-turn promotions to honest and meritorious officers and officials.
