| Over 50 deputations call on CM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER Jammu, August 13 Over 50 deputations most of them hailing from hilly and remote pockets met Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad and apprised him about the problems and urgent development requirements of their respective areas. Deputations from Rajouri, Poonch and Udhampur districts during their interaction with the Chief Minister projected the demands for better road connectivity, upgradation of various schools and assuring permanent staff in these institutions besides filling up of vacant posts in government offices. Another deputation from Bhadarwah led by senior Congress leader Mr. Noor Mohammad Bhat put forth their demand for opening of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Branch at Village Gowari, while the deputation from tehsil Marwah in district Kishtwar led by Mr. Ghulam Nabi Malik submitted a charter of demands to the chief Minister that included provision for admitting Marwah students in Kendriya Vidyalayas and Sainik School and upgradation of various schools in the region. Mr. Azad assured the deputationists all their genuine demands would be examined and development needs addressed in a phased manner. The Excise and Taxation Department Class-IV employees deputation during their interaction with the Chief Minister demanded regularization of the services of those employees who have rendered more than seven years of service. Mr. Azad said that their demand would be examined. Minister for Transport Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma commanded the deputation of private colleges of Jammu province and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, who assured them that their concerns would be looked into. The deputation of Jammu and Kashmir Linemen and Workers Union led by their President Mr. Ghulam Nabi Bhat demanded reorganization of the Power Development Department and re-designation of linemen, while the JKPCC Workers’ Association deputation stressed for initiating various innovative steps to promote competition between public and private sector enterprises. A deputation of Jammu Bar Association too called on the Chief Minister and submitted a memorandum to him.
