| Cobbler makes history | | Manufactures half an inch length footwear | |
Vikas Sharma Jammu August 24- Ram Kumar of Ambedkar Nagar Paloura, cobbler by profession is perhaps the first man to manufacture the smallest footwear of just half an inch in length and there is every possibility of his name figuring in the Genies Book of World Records. Being in profession for the last over two decades, Ram Kumar son of late Kartar Chand is currently working with in TT Shoes company, a private concern. He is credited to have manufactured some modern and fashionable foot wears both for ladies and the gents. Starting his profession at the age of just 11 years, Ram Kumar has a cherished desire to find his name in the Genies Book of World Records He is credited to have manufactured one inch long chapel in 2001, followed by a ¾ inch chapel in 2002.His main and final creation is the half inch long chapel, which he made in 2007, which according to him is the world record. When Early Times reporter contacted him he expressed his surprise that even after achieving this distinction he has not found his name in the Genies Book of World Records and said that he was even capable to make a chapel even of much smaller size.
