| Police registers case against woman for registering false complaint | | | Jammu | Aug 24 Miran Sahib Police today registered a case against a woman for registering a false complaint with the police about looting of cash. According to reports yesterday evening, a woman namely Surinder Kour wife of Ranjeet Singh resident of Bhour Camp, lodged a written report in the Miran Sahib police station that she had to return Rs one lakh which she had received through draft from her brother from to time and took Rs 40,000 from her house and was on way to PNB Miran Sahib to draw Rs 60,000 more. She told police that after drawing the said amount from the bank when she reached near main road and was waiting for matador two unidentified youths- one Sikh and another clean shaved- riding a motorcycle snatched her bag containing Rs 40,000. Upon this complaint, police registered a case under section 382 RPC under FIR No 42/2007 and took up investigation. SI Sachinder Paul Singh during the course of investigation established that the lady had got a false case registered for which she apologized before the respectable of the locality also. Police has also registered a case under section 182 RPC against her and is further investigating the matter.
