| Several BJP, Congress workers join NC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER R.S.Pura | Aug 26 Nearly 50 Congress and BJP workers today joined National Conference party in presence of Provincial Youth President Jammu and senior party leader Taranjeet Singh Tony during a public rally organized at village Magowali by Naresh Bittu Block President, Suchetgarh. Prominent among those who joined the party included Jagir Singh, Jaswant Singh, Manjeet Singh, Krishan Lal, Ashwani Kumar, Rakesh Kumar and Surjeet Singh. While addressing to public gathering, Tony said that National Conference has always fought for the rights and privileges of the weaker sections of the society and has been in the forefront to take up their problems at the highest level. He further said that prices of daily needed items have touched all time high during the coalition dispensation in the state and in certain cases the people have been put to undue hardships. The unrest among the labour class is growing with every passing day, he said, adding that the people have been left to fend for even the basic amenities of life. Naresh Bitttu Block President Suchetgarh, who also spoke on the occasion, said that the people of border region faced many problems especially during rainy season even they lost their crops and cattle. He was critical of the functioning of the local MLAs and accused them of being indifferent towards the people of their constituencies. Others present on this occasion were Rattan Singh, Jasveer Singh, Om Parkash, Tarsem Sharma, Balwant Singh, Bryam Singh and Sukhdev Singh.
