| Cong workers protest against Harshdev | | Made abortive bid to block Tawi Bridge | | Jammu, August 26: Hundreds of Congress workers today made an abortive bid to block busy Tawi Bridge who had gathered outside the Press Club building to protest against Panther party Member Harsh Dev Singh for allegedly threatening Congress minister Jugal Kishore. The protestors attempted to block the bridge, but the police forced them to disperse from the spot. Earlier, shouting slogans against Singh and panther party, they came in a procession starting from the Party head quarter at Shahdi Chowk. MLA Yogesh Sawney was leading the protest. During their protests outside press club, some Congress workers marched towards the bridge and tried to block the traffic. However, the protestors later dispersed from the spot following the intervention of the police. The protestors later marched towards the bus stand and dispersed off peacefully. Singh was banned from attending the ongoing session of the state assembly after he allegedly threatened the minister over the suspension of an employee of his department who had died due to heart attack. Singh, however, claimed that he was barred from attending the session under a well-planned conspiracy as the government did not want to face the Opposition on crucial issues concerning the masses of the state. Harsh Dev Singh has also clarified it many a times that he never threatened the Congress Minister but called him "murderer" which he misconstrued because of being low qualified.
