| Two jawans injured in explosion, militants fired at search party | | |
Srinagar, August 26 : Two soldiers were injured in an explosion that took place inside a bunker, while a search party was fired upon by militants since Sunday morning in frontier district of Kupwara.
Sources said that 2 Jawans manning a banker were injured due to explosion . however the cause of blast was kmnown immediately . police said the possibility of a grenade attack by Army could not be ruled out.
Meanwhile, militants fired upon a joint search party of Special Operation Group and 28 Rashtriya Rifles at Forest area Dooraswani.
Sources said that after receiving a specific tip off, police and Army launched a joint operation deep in the forests. During the operation militants fired upon search party which was retaliated by the troops. However, the militants managed to escape taking the advantage of forests.
No loss of life or injury to any one from either side was reported in the incident.
During search of the area , Troops recovered three Pithu bags, four Barfi packs, one rice bag, 25 Kgs Sugar, one bag of Potatoes and Onions , two boxes of pencils and one box of soap.
