| G. B. Pant attains status of multi-disciplinary hospital | | Medicine discipline to start OPD Monday: Mangat | |
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 26 – G.B. Pant hospital would throw open its medicine discipline from tomorrow and its gynae section comprising of 30 beds shall also function round the clock to cater to varied medicare needs of people. With the start of OPD medicine, the hospital has attained the status of multi-disciplinary state level health institution.
This was decided at a joint management committee meeting of the hospital held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Health and Medical Education Mangat Ram Sharma.
It was decided in the meeting that gynae and obstetrics section of G.B.Pant hospital and 92 Base hospital of Army would work in complete synergy to share technical expertise during emergencies. For the purpose both the hospitals will liaise and work in tandem.
Managing Director JKPCC was directed to ensure operationalization of support system services including fresh air, air conditions central sterilization, etc.
Recognized as multi-disciplinary satellite/associated hospital of Government Medical College Srinagar, the budgetary allocation for the hospital would also be enhanced.
Among others President Cantonment Board Brig. Harinder Mohan, Secretary Health and medical Education K. B. Jandial, Principal GMC Srinagar Dr. M. A. Shah, Medical Superintendent G.B. Pant Dr. Waseen Qureshi attended the meeting.
