Foundation stone of Chashma-e-Mahi laid

RAJOURI, AUGUST 26- Considering tourism potential in Rajouri like other parts of the state, Law Bowli being modernized as a tourist resort, District Development Commissioner Rajouri Rafiq Ahmed Sheikh yesterday laid foundation stone of Law Bowli, renamed as Chasma-e-Mahi situated in the lap of Law hills, 2.50 kms from Behrote on Rajouri- Thannamandi road. This historical spring will be designed as Chashma-e-Mahi which replica of springs of Mutton, Achhabal and Veerinag in district Anantnag in Kashmir valley. In first phase Rs. 10 lakh are being incurred on it but when completed it will cost Rs. 50 lakh.
While disclosing Sheikh said that pond shall be constructed with uplift of walling and would be covered with CGI roofing on four corner pillars. The external pond with both sides with 30’x40’ internal area where fish of different spices would be stocked for making attraction of the tourists. He appreciated the people of the villagers for donating 4 kanals of land for the cause of tourist resort, which would be developed, with all facilities of the tourists.
DDC also sanctioned Rs. 25 lakh for construction of five room mddle school building as the existing school building has been merged with the Chashma-e-Mahi. In addition, he also sanctioned Rs. 159.54 lakh for 3 km Creen to La link road, Rs. 4.50 lakh for construction of Sora bridge to Khabian road link. DDC issued instruction to the Tourism Development Authority that work should be of quality nature and there shall be no compromise with sub-standard material. He said that he will himself monitor this work being a precious project.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Javid Khan, Chief Medical Officer Kuldip Gupta, Exn. PDD, were among the officers who accompanied the DDC. Besides Sarpanchs, panchs, people of the area and school children welcomed the DDC on reaching the spot.
Khan also spoke on the occasion and gave concept to the people about the benefits of the tourism in their area. He appealed them to donate the land for construction of road so that tourist could frequently visit this place which will also boost the economy of the people.
