| Aijaz Khan takes stock of development works at Charar-e-Sharief, Yousmarg | | | Srinagar, August 26 – Minister of State for Agriculture, Higher Education and Forests Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Khan today visited various areas of Budgam district including Charar-e-Sharief and Yousmarg and took stock of development works. He also visited Shrine of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA), paid obeisance and prayed for peace, prosperity and development of the state. During the visit, the Minister took stock of pace of construction work on Khankah Sharief. He was informed that out of an estimated cost of Rs.26 crore, Rs.5 crore has been spent on the project so far and the project is expected to be completed by 2009. He was further informed that the Khankhah has nearly capacity of 25000 devotees and the basement portion of the Khankhah is almost complete. Later, the Minister addressing All Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar and Bakerwal Conference said that coalition government has launched various welfare schemes for the upliftment of the community. He appealed them to be forthcoming in availing the benefits of these schemes. He said that Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has directed social welfare department to set up Anganwari Centres in all the Gujjar and Bakerwals villages and hamlets for extending nutrition facilities to their children. Aijaz said that the forest department has allotted 10724 cft timber to Charar-e-Shrief and Chadora people from April 2007 to till date.
