| CRPF captain ends life | | |
Srinagar, Aug 27 : A CRPF captain ended his life by shooting himself with an official weapon in Bemina area, just a day after he returned from a month leave.
Well informed sources told News Agency of Kashmir that Captain Digvijay Singh of CRPF returned from a month leave and joined his duties on Sunday.
The officer reportedly was in his barracks when his colleagues heard a gun shot. They rushed to the spot and noticed Singh in pool of blood. He was shifted to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Sources said that the captain used service weapon of his colleague to shoot himself dead as he was not issued any weapon by the company after his joining back.
The official spokesman of CRPF Prabahkar Tripathi said that a court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the reasons which led to the suicide by the officer.
