| Journalist Association Poonch constituted, Kazmi elected President | | |
Poonch Aug 27 The first ever election of Journalist Association of District Poonch was held in historic Town Hall here under the supervision of election commissioner K.K Kapoor and legal luminary Advocate Annuj Kapoor in which proprietor of Taskeen group of publication and newspaper Ajaz Kazmi was elected as President of District Journalist Association of Poonch.
N.S. Talwar District Bureau Chief ANI was elected as Chairman, G.M. Jaffary of Kashmir Times as senior Vice President, A.K Misri of Mandate as Vice President, Devinder Singh of Peace and Relation as General Secretary, Munish Sharma of Amar Ujala as Cashier, Wajhat Bukhari of Kashmir Times as Secretary, Mohd. Bashir as PRO Akhilesh Sangeet of Kashmir Images /ANN and Yaseen Shamma Bureau PV Channel as Joint Secretaries, Bhupinder Singh of ERA Channel as Office Secretary , Gulshan Kumar of Danik Jagran and Swinkle Chadda of Kattu Satya as Publicity Secretaries.
An advisory Committee was also constituted in which K.D Maini of Peace and Relation was elected as Chief Advisor and Pardeep Khanna as Member.
The other members of the committee include PS Kapoor, Anubhav Misri, Syed Sajid Kazmi, Gurpreet Singh , Atul Sharma, I. A Salaria , Bansi Lal , Syed Imran , G.Q Sheikh, S. Krishan Singh, N.K Datta, Rifaqat Ali and Ishrat Bhat,
Minister for R&B and Chairman District Development Board Poonch Gulchain Singh Charak was the chief guest at the function which was among others attended by Deputy Commissioner J.S. Pachanda, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mubrak Singh and Dy.S P Rafiq Chowhardy.
Charak while addressing the media persons and dignitaries of Poonch expressed his happiness over the election and appealed to the journalist fraternity to highlight the grievances of common men and developmental activities carried out by the State Government and simultaneously pinpoint the draw backs of district administration.
DDC Poonch J.S. Pachnanda also spoke on the occasion and assured the media of full help and support from the district administration. He impressed upon the journalists to be transparent and true while reporting.
City father Advocate Rajinder Singh, Secretary JKPCC Yash Pal Sharma, President Bar Association Advocate Mohd Zaman, President Gududwara Parbandak Committee S. Narinder Singh, President Anjuman Jaffria, President Dashanami Akhara and Basant Ram Sharma, Organizer SSKK Khurshed Rather were also present.
The proceedings of the election were conducted by Radio and TV artist Pardeep Khanna.
Later, the elected members were taken in a procession from Town Hall and after passing through the main markets the procession culminated at bus stand where President Beopar Mandal Sunil Gupta greeted them.
