| Hizb district commander killed | | | DODA: A self-styled district commander of the pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen was today shot dead in ane encounter in Doda district, a senior police official said.
Acting on a tip-off, police and security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Chatroo area in Kishtwar block of the district in wee hours, Jammu zone Inspector- General of Police S P Vaid said. He said during the operation, an encounter took place in which militant Imran Ahmed Shiekh alias Furqan who was a self-styled district commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen. The operation was continuing in the area, he added. |
