| 20 crore released for BGSBU | | All graveyards of Jammu city being fenced: Peerzada | |
Srinagar, August 28 An amount of Rs. 20 crore has been released for the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University set up under Auqaf Affairs Development by Shahdra Sharief Management to start its functioning. The University which started its academic session last year is annually being provided Rs two crore by the Shahda Sharief Management to meet day to day expenses. This was stated at the 8th meeting of State Waqaf Council held at SKICC today with Minister for Haj and Auqaf Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed in chair who is also chairman of the council. The meeting was attended among others by the members of the council and Commissioner Secretary Law Mr A. H. Kochak. The meeting was informed that Auqaf Islamia Jammu had an income of Rs 1.68 crore last year as compared to corresponding period of 2005-2006. It was given out that Auqaf Islamia Jammu took the control of Ziarat Sharief at Ustad Mohalla Jammu which would help in increasing the revenue of the Waqaf council. It was also informed that encroachment on 16 kanals of Auqaf land in Muthi, Jammu has been removed and its fencing done by the Waqaf council. Auqaf commercial complex of Land spread over 3 kanals near Gandhinagar which was under illegal occupation has been recovered by the Waqaf Council. The Minister while addressing the meeting announced that all graveyards in Jammu city would be fenced adding that fencing and walling of all Waqaf land need to be undertaken on priority. The meeting reviewed the decisions taken in the 7th meet of the Waqaf council
