The ambitious project to translate autobiography of Mohan Dass Karam Chand Gandhi has already been approved by the Executive Council of State Academy chaired by chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad, while the task is being entrusted to noted Gojri Scholar and Translator Choudhary Hassan Parwaaz.

Dr. Rahi said since the State is passing through the turmoil and the Gandhian way offered an answer to all challenges, "We would be doing him great injustice if we didn't interpret, in contemporary terms, what he spelt out in the context of his times. He would have wanted us to experiment and find our own way without compromising our fundamental beliefs".
Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, Secretary of the State Academy stated that the Gojri translation of Gandhi's famous autobiography will help the Guijjars and Bakerwals of the State and other Himalayan regions to understand and follow the philosophy of great leader of the nation.
Gojri is the first and the only tribal language of the State having privilege of getting translation of autobiography of Late Mahatma Gandhi.
The Title cover of the book has been designed by eminent graphic artist G. Ahmad and it will also contain some of the rarest photos of Gandhiji.
