| Police SI booked for killing civilian | | | | POONCH: A police sub-inspector was today booked in connection with the death of a civilian in crossfire between police and militants in Mendhar toan of Poonch district on Friday. A case was filed against the Special Operations Group SI for allegedly killing Mohmmad Tehsil in Harni village of Mendhar and the investigation started, police officials said. They dis not disclose the name of the SI. They claimed Tehsil was not killed in crossfire between the SOG and militants but that that SI had killed him in his home. The police action comes after locals of Mendhar staged protests and called a shutdown in the town alleging that the SOG had killed the civilian. |
