| Absconding murder accused arrested | | |

Bishnah police today arrested a murder accused who was absconding for one year and had joined a city based gang in the meanwhile.
According to reports, Ranjeet Singh alias Luga alias Sonu is accused in committing murder of a youth Vivek Gupta son of Sham Lal resident of Pirthipur on May 27, 2006 along with two others, owing to some dispute, in full public view.
Reports said police had at that time managed to arrest his two associates while Ranjeet got absconding.
Sources during his absconding period he had joined a gang in the city and started working for it by remaining underground.
Two days back when the gang decided to murder a member of a rival gang who was active in the old city he was spotted wandering in the city when Panjthirthi police arrested him with sharp edged weapons before he, alomg with his new associates could attack a member of the rival gang.
The arrested were taken to police station and today when they were released on bail, Bishnah police arrested Ranjeet from the city and took him to police station for further interrogation.
When contacted SP South Zahid Manhas confirmed the arrest and said that the accused was absconding for last one year and today police arrested him during a special naka.
Sources said he was involved in many cases in different police stations and his interrogation was going on in the police station as last report came in.
