| Situation in JK improving: Cong leader | | | SRINAGAR, AUG 13 Asserting that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir was improving fast, a senior state Congress leader said the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road would be thrown open for trade soon. With the sincere efforts of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Srinagar-Muzafarabad road would be thrown open for trade between the two sides, Senior Vice-President of Pradesh Congress Committee and MLC Abdul Gani Vakil said addressing a public meeting at Rafiabad in Baramulla district yesterday. The situation in the state was improving but still some vested interests inside and out side the country were creating hurdles in the peace process, he said. He said UPA government has taken some bold initiatives during the last two years by implementing some confidence building measures. These efforts have made sea changes in the prevailing situation and thousands of divided families have met their dear ones across the Line of Control, he added.
