| Hakeem appeals youth to work for peace, progress | | | SRINAGAR, AUGUST 29 Appealing the youth to have their role in the democratic process and development of the State, Minister for Transport and Chairman PDF Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has said that the State has passed through a turbulent phase and witnessed retardation in the process of development. Addressing a youth rally here today, Hakeem Yaseen said that the time is ripe to give a push forward to the dialogue process and added that all those who have remained out of scene in this process be persuaded for projecting their view point. He said the negotiations have always proved dominating the means of violence adding that every issue can have solution in talks. Suggesting the youth to stand on their own legs by availing the benefits of self employment schemes, Hakeem Yaseen said that government is providing every support for setting up of income generating units to the youth. He said that primitive and core sectors like Agriculture, Horticulture, Tourism, Handicrafts, Handlooms, small scale and other cottage industries have better scope of guaranting employment opportunities to every section whether skilled, unskilled, educated or uneducated. He said for making these sectors more viable and job producing the government has initiated concrete steps. Reiterating PDF’s stand for peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue, Hakeem Yaseen said that his party advocates inclusion of Kashmiris in the peace talks as a genuine party to the issue. He said that PDF is emerging as a suitable alternate political plateform and its political canvass is broadening as evident from the fact that political workers from other parties are enthaustically relinquishing their political affiliation and join PDF. On the occasion some political activists announced their joining in PDF and said that they would work for strengthening the hands of Front’s Chairman and the party itself. The new incumbents in the PDF included Raja Ghulam Mohammad, MBilal Ahmad Sheikh, Javid Ahmad, Irshad Ahmad, Riyaz Ahmad Bazaz, Rashid Ahmad Khan and Aijaz Ahmad Thakur.
