Bandh take stock of Srinagar city roads

Srinagar, August 29 - Minister of State for Roads and Buildings Mr. Mohammad Khalil Bandh has said that the present government has taken numerous steps for better road connectivity for the people of the state especially Srinagar city besides providing them other basic amenities including education and health, electricity, adequate drinking water facilities. In this connection, coalition government has done commendable work during last five year. He said that several steps have also been taken for the betterment of urban people.
The Minister was interacting with the people of Mahjoor Nagar, Zaffron Colony, Chinar Colony, Natipora, Faiz Abad colony, Dilsoz Basti, Naik Bagh Nowgam and Rawal Pora of Amira Kadal constituency during his extensive visit of the city today.
The Minister took stock of various under execution works in these areas. At Mahjoor Nagar, he directed the concerned authorities to formulate a comprehensive project for the development of the interior roads of these colonies around the Mahjoor Nagar. He also directed them to formulate a project for construction of road from Bhagwan pora to Check Rawalpora connecting to I.G road Peer Bagh bridge so that the people of these areas would get better road connectivity facilities.
Mr. Bandh also inspected the ongoing work of two road projects under NABARD including Lal Nagar-Methan road and Natipora Sttium road at an estimated cost of Rs.1.66 crore. During his visit, the Minister was informed that six km length of Srinagar-Chari-e-Sharief road have been black topped at a cost of Rs.40 lakh from Zum Zum junction to Baghi Mehtab during the current year. He was also informed that the work on under execution of some interior roads in these areas are in full swing.
People of Chinar Colony and Hafiz Abad Natipora demanded for establishment of dispensary and ration depot in the area. The Minister listened them patiently and assured that their genuine demands would be looked into.
