| Panthers to hold Assembly session at Lal Chowk | | Bhim appeals people to oppose, expose ‘Chengazi’ Congress government | |
Jammu Aug-29 Declaring that Panthers Party legislators would hold Assembly session at historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar, if Harshdev Singh was not allowed to attend the Assembly session tomorrow, Prof Bhim Singh, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party, has said that today’s bandh was a referendum by the people in support of the party’s demand to revoke suspension of Harshdev Singh, leader of the Panthers Legislature party, apart from to implement the Apex Court judgment on Talwara migrants and judicial probe into the barbaric assault against the Jammu migrants and PP leaders on August 7 last. In a handout released to the press here this evening, Prof Singh has expressed gratitude to the people of Jammu and Kashmir particularly Jammu province for their active support and effective cooperation and solidarity with the PP by observing complete bandh in Jammu and at other district and tehsil headquarters. Prof Singh, the handout further says, has also thanked Chief Minister and Congress leaders for burning the effigies of the Panthers leaders and opposing the bandh through his administration and political agents which helped to provoke the sleeting sentiments of the Jammu people who aggressively participated in the bandh to expose the corrupt and authoritarian government. He has demanded immediate release of over two dozen party workers detained during the bandh. Prominent among them were Vinod Singh, state secretary young panthers. Saleem Sheikh General Secretary PTU, S D Khajuria district general secretary. The PP Chief also addressed large gatherings at Kahua, Hiranagar, Samba and Raghunath Bazar here. Undeterred by the Congress stoning and slogans at Kathua and other places, Prof Singh has appealed the people of Jammu to unite to oppose, expose and finally depose the corrupt, communal and ‘Chengazi’ government of the Congress to save the people and their liberty, the press releases adds. Later, Singh flew to Srinagar to address party rally in Law Chowk in the afternoon.
