| Shiv Sena activists stage protest in JU, demand action against faculty members hobnobbing with separatist forces | | VC constitutes three member committee | | Jammu, August 29 Activists of Hindu Shiv Sena led by their state president Rajesh Gupta today staged protest demonstration in Jammu university campus demanding action against the University faculty members promoting cause of anti national forces and publishing incriminating literature by hobnobbing with separatist forces. Venting their ire against the head of the department of the Political science department Prof Rekha Choudhary, shiv sena activities urged vice chancellor of the Jammu university Prof Amitabh Mattoo to take strict action against the conduct of the HoD Political science department. Shiv Sena activist were raising their voice against the recent publication of a survey in a national daily projecting that 87 percent residents in Jammu and Kashmir want independence ."We had submitted a written complaint to the vice chancellor few days ago and he had assured us that he would look in to the matter. Today we launched protest demonstration because university authorities were maintaining a stoic silence over the issue. We cannot tolerate this blatant misuse of authority by any of the university faculty member", state shiv sena president Rajesh Gupta said . He said few faculty members have been indulging in anti national activities and siding with separatist forces openly still no action has been taken against them. Referring to the recent survey, Gupta said a agency linked with a university faculty member had actively participated in the poll which concluded that 87 per cent Kashmiris demand Independence. "We want to know the credentials of the survey agency and how the said agency concluded this and under whose duress they were conducting such surveys. Failing to pacify the agitating Shiv sena activists Vice Chancellor constituted a three member committee to look in to the complaint and directed them to submit their report by September 4. Dean academic affairs, Dean students welfare and Registrar of the Jammu university were made members of the committee, Rajesh Gupta said referring to the written statement of the Jammu university Vice Chancellor.
