A motivational tour to North India for the children of border areas of J&K was flagged off today from Akhnoor by Major General AK Malik, GOC, Akhnoor Division. In the right earnest to provide an opportunity to children to have a glimpse of historical as well as modern face of India, this tour is planned under Operation Sadbhavana by Kalidhar Brigade.
35 Students selected from border areas of Sunderbani tehsil, accompanied by three members of teaching staff will visit Amritsar, Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Places of historical significance like Jallianwala Bagh, Golden Temple, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort, Jaigarh Observatory, Tajmahal as well as Tourist sports including Lotus Temple, Appu Ghar, Malls, water parks are covered in the tour itinerary. Children will also take the famous metro train ride in Delhi.
