| Marshals in LA tear red aprons | | Were worn by PP members as a mark of protest | | Srinagar, Aug 31 On last day of summer session, the Legislative Assembly on Friday turned into a battle field with lawmakers assaulting marshals and threatening each other. After the Zero Hour ended, Panthers Party (PP) MLAs, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Faqir Nath and Yashpal Kundal – who are on protest against suspension of their colleague Harshdev Singh – entered the House wearing red aprons. The Deputy Speaker Muhammad Akbar Lone, who was in the chair, asked the PP members to take off their aprons. However, PP members resisted forcing Deputy Speaker to call the marshals, who tore apart the aprons worn by the PP members. Opposition leader, Abdul Rahim Rather came in support of the PP members. “This is shame that apparels of honorable members are being removed. Why the motion wasn’t brought in the House,” Rather said. The Dy Speaker adjourned the House till 3:30 pm.
