| CAPD assistant director arrested accepting bribe | | |
SRINAGAR:
State Vigilance Organization arrested Tariq Ahmad Qadri S/o Ghulam Ahmad Qadri R/o Namlabal Pampore, assistant director CAPD Srinagar (Rural) while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000/- in his office chambers. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of the officer and his hand wash tested positive.
Vigilance organization had laid the trap on the written complaint of Sonaullah Wani, Storekeeper CAPD posted at Watlar, Ganderbal S/o Ghulam Qadir R/o Kurhama, Ganderbal alleging that the assistant director was demanding an amount of Rs 10,000/- for release of payment of a bill for arranging tent at Khirbawani shrine on the directions of Food & Supplies department last year.
The file pertaining to release of payment was also recovered from the possession of the accused officer and seized. A case FIR No 50/2007 u/s 5(2) P.C.Act r/w 161 RPC was registered in Police Station VOK Srinagar.
