| Grenade defused | | |
Srinagar , August 31: Police today claimed to have averted a major tragedy when it detected and defused a live hand grenade in Summer Capital's busy area of Batmaloo.
Police spokes man said that in the morning hours today, a live hand Grenade was found during the search operation by Police at General Bus stand Batmaloo.
To avoid any loss of life, the whole area was immediately evacuated by Police. The grenade was later safely destroyed by Bomb Disposal Squad.
