| Huge cache of arms, ammunition recovered | | | Srinagar, August 31: Security forces today claimed to have recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition during last twenty four hours from two different places in Kupwara district of North Kashmir. Police sources told that during the early hours today, Road opening party of 34 Medium Regiment Camp Panzgam recovered arms and ammunition from Manzpathri Nallha, falling under the jurisdiction of Tregham police station Kupwara. The recovery from the Nallha included 1 AK 47 rifle, 2 AK Magazines, 87 rounds of ammunition, one silencer and 10 UBGL grenades. However, the grenades were destroyed on the spot. Meanwhile, acting on specific information the troops of 10 Assam recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the far flung forest area of Badi Behat village under police post Kral Pora, Kupwara. The arms and ammunition recovered included, one AK rifle, one AK magazine, one 8mm rifle, one 8mm magazine, 18 rounds of 8mnm ammunition, one UBGL launcher, seven 9mm pistols, seven 9mm magazines, 25 rounds of 9mm ammunition, one 0.22 mm pistol, one 0.22 mm magazine, one compass type silva, one ammunition box sealed, three radio sets, one radio set antenna, four binocular, three hand grenades, twelve detonators, five IED and one Pok magazine newspaper. Police has registered a case in this connection and are investigating the matter.
