| RRSR Manch gives ‘Bharat bandh’ call on Sept 12 | | Paroach asks Centre to declare Ram Setu a national heritage | |
Early Times Reporter Jammu August 31 Kamlseh Kumar Paroach President of newly formed Rameshwaram Ram Setu Raksha (RRSR) Manch has impressed upon the government to give up its plan to demolish the ancient Ram Setu Bridge at Rameshawar and instead declare it as a national heritage. Addressing media persons here today the newly elected president of the Manch said that any attempt to demolish the bridge would have greater ramifications and would hurt the sentiments of millions of Indians. He urged upon the Central government to rise to the occasion and preserve and protect this ancient bridge which has great religious sanctity. The Setu should be declared as a national heritage, he demanded. It may be recalled that RRSR Manch which is already operating in other parts of the country has been formed here with Kamlesh Kumar Paroach Retd. Justice as the President and Hem Raj Khajuria as Vice-President. He said to gain public support the Manch is organizing a ‘Bharat Bhand’ on September 12 adding that the Manch would fight tooth and nail to force the government to give up its plan to demolish the Bridge which has great religious sanctity.
