Committee to look into problems of displaced persons: Prem Sagar

Srinagar, September 01 – The Minister of State for Revenue, Prem Sagar Aziz said in Legislative Council today said that eight member committee has been constituted in May this year headed by Financial Commissioner Revenue to look into the problems faced by West Pakistan refugees and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir displaced persons of 1947 and internally displaced persons of 1965 and 1971.
Replying to a Calling Attention Motion by Mr. Rajinder Singh Chib, Mr. Prem Sagar Aziz said that the other members of the Committee are Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Vice-Chairman Jammu Development Authority, Municipal Commissioner Jammu, Deputy Commissioners of Jammu and Kathua districts and one representative each from displaced persons of 1947, 1965 and 1971. He said that the committee would study the adequacy of measures taken by the government so far for addressing the problems of these people and suggest measures for solving the pending problems of these people if any.
